Resumen

Project management has established itself as one of the main research areas in economic and administrative sciences, as it is applicable to various fields of knowledge and social realities. Thus, Research and Development Projects (RDP) are not unaware of the use of structured methodologies (for the present agile methodologies) for their development. Although the literature on this type of methodology is extensive, its use in RDPs is still incipient, and therefore, there is no holistic vision of its impact in this type of projects. Based on the above mentioned, the present study aims to carry out a hermeneutic analysis of the application of this type of methodologies in RDPs. For its fulfillment, a systematized revision of the literature was carried out, establishing that its use is made in a hybrid way and not a pure one, concentrating in the stages of planning and execution, materializing its positive impact in the decrease of times and costs of execution, besides improving the cohesion and relation among the members of the team. Finally, it was possible to establish that although there are a significant number of positive impacts in its use, its application should be adjusted to the field of action, since its implementation should not be standardized due to the nature of this type of project, where creativity and innovation stand out.
