This article explores the relationship between human security and the level of implementation of public policies aimed at preserving the environment. To this end, a Human Security Index is developed, composed of seven normalized dimensions: health, nutrition, environmental vulnerability, access to basic services, economic capacity, political stability, and forced displacement. Using cross-sectional data from 105 countries and linear regression models, the association between environmental policy instruments and human security is analyzed. The results show a positive and statistically significant relationship, suggesting that institutional efforts in environmental matters help reduce vulnerabilities and strengthen development pathways. The need for specific strategies, broadly integrated with environmental governance within the human security agenda, is highlighted. This research on global security emphasizes the protection of biodiversity as a driver for peace and economic development.
